GM says it’s ready to start selling power adapters compatible with Tesla, more than a year after it announced plans to adopt the related charging standard.

After a delay of several months, General Motors said owners of its battery-powered models would now be able to use Tesla charging stations with adapters.

To gain immediate access, owners of electric Chevy, Cadillac, and GMC vehicles will need to purchase “GM approved” Tesla adapters through each brand’s smartphone app for $225. Future GM vehicles will come with Tesla’s charging port natively installed.

Previously, GM electric vehicles weren’t compatible with Tesla Superchargers, as they were outfitted with a different proprietary charging port.
