Thrash metal icons Testament recently played a show with an 11-year-old on guitar for one song. On September 14 at a Las Vegas concert, the Bay Area legends welcomed prodigy Maya Neelakantan onstage for their track Curse Of The Legions Of Death (C.O.T.L.O.D.). Thrash metal legends Slayer did not remain broken up for long. In 2019, the band finished up their farewell tour. Earlier this year, guitarist Kerry King claimed that he hadn’t spoken to his old bandmate Tom Araya since the final show.

At their headlining set closing out Riot Fest in Chicago, thrash legends Slayer performed a 20-song reunion set, their first since the end of their farewell tour in late 2019. It was one of just three festival appearances Slayer are making this year.
