The National Hurricane Center is continuing to forecast the development of a tropical disturbance that could move into the Gulf of Mexico next week and become a tropical depression. The disturbance hasn’t formed yet, however.

As tropical activity in the Atlantic Ocean quiets down again, attention is shifting back to the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, where the National Hurricane Center is now officially monitoring the area for tropical development.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is keeping tabs on the potential formation of a low pressure system in the Caribbean Sea that could have tropical implications for the Gulf of Mexico next week.

Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center will be monitoring the western Caribbean Sea for tropical development in the coming days. Currently there is no activity in that region but a broad area of low pressure could start to form early to mid-next week.
