A man who police shot on a crowded Brooklyn subway platform Sunday — after, the NYPD says, he skipped a fare and threatened officers with a knife — remains in a hospital bed and unable to walk, his attorney said Friday.

Officers fired during a clash with a man carrying a knife who was first stopped for fare evasion, police said. Two bystanders, an officer and the man were struck.

A subway fare-beater accused of threatening a pair of NYPD officers with a knife, sparking a showdown that resulted in four being injured by police gunfire at a Brooklyn L station, was indicted Friday for assaulting the officer struck by his partner in the friendly fire shooting.

A witness says the alleged fare-evader walked away from police, who shot and critically injured him, along with two bystanders.

We are not perfect,” said John Chell, the Police Department’s chief of patrol, as protesters gathered in Union Square.
