Paris Saint-Germain have appealed a decision which would force them to pay former striker Kylian Mbappe €55million in withheld salary and bonuses from his time at the club. PSG have argued they were entitled to do so because Mbappe’s original contract was “legally amended” in an agreement between the player and the club as he was reintegrated into the first team in the summer of 2023.

Paris Saint-Germain has appealed “out of principle” the Ligue de Football Professional (LFP) Legal Commission’s ruling to pay Kylian Mbappe €55m in bonuses within eight days. The French champions consider this sum waived following a verbal agreement made in August 2023 between Mbappe and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The €20million deal with Krasnodar makes him the most expensive signing of a Russian player since Russia ’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
