OSU remained at No. 3, behind No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Georgia, just as things looked after Week 3. Ohio State has looked absolutely dominant but has yet to play any opponent as good as what both the Longhorns and Bulldogs have, so it’s a bit of a wait-and-see for voters, and it does makes at least some sense.

As a result, Michigan rose in the Week 5 US LBM Coaches Poll, moving from No. 17 to No. 12. Former opponent Texas is ranked No. 3, and future opponents also found themselves ranked: Illinois is No. 21, Oregon is No. 7, and Ohio State is No. 3.

Kalen DeBoer’s first true test as the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide will come this weekend as the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs come to town. Both sides were on a bye this past weekend, and Ohio State and Texas marched through pay-to-play games leaving the top five of the US LBM Coaches Poll the same.
